Treasure Hunt by TISSA UUM

Friday, supposed to be the usual weekend holiday which I used to stay in my room doing assignments or studying but I choose to participate in a treasure hunt program organized in conjunction with Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA) UUM Carnival. Well, I cannot denied that it's a busy week ahead but it was really a splendid Friday with them. The memories when three of us joined the Interactive Consumer Challenges State Level during our high school was recalled. I love to be with them at anytime and anywhere. I'm really glad that three of us were still able to be in the same university - Universiti Utara Malaysia taking part in the same activities. #friendshipforever

The Kid from the Big Apple

It’s the end of my mid semester break. I would like to say that it was really an enjoyable break as I’ve rest well and relaxed my mind from the busy routine which I encountered every day since the beginning of the semester. As what people always say; short break is for a longer journey. “The Kid from the Big Apple”. A recent movie that I had watched and I would strongly recommend it to all the younger generations. This film was entirely shot in Malaysia took home four awards in total for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Writing and Best Newcomers.

The film is all about Sarah, a little girl who lives and is raised in New York. When she visits Malaysia for the very first time, she finds her view on the world changing as she spends her time with her deeply conservative grandfather, Gen. She also learns that cultural tradition is the reason why her grandfather and her mother, Sophia, have not seen each other since she was born.

Nowadays, elders see the younger generations as eyesores because of their overly 'westernized' behavior and poor moral's. Whilst the youngsters on the other hand, have no time for their elders, who to them seem belong in a museum. Sadly, this is a growing global phenomenon. It is the director's intent to tell this tale in a witty, comical manner and in doing so, hoping that this little slice of life will touch the audiences' heart.

How time flies~

Time flies ~ it’s time to say goodbye to Manami. Today, she will be leaving to her hometown at Akashi, Hyogo in Japan after 6 weeks she have been in Malaysia. No doubt! She is Japanese. She was here for an exchange program under Aiesec to be a volunteer in teaching children at the NGO home. I get to know her since the mid of March when she was having her 1 week holiday in Universiti Utara Malaysia. We almost spent all of our time together through the week; we ate together, we went to class together as well as exchanged gift before she left. I’ll be missing her and we had promised to travel together once after we have graduated. Seriously, I can’t wait for that!

My kind of Saturday!

02/04/2016
It's Saturday, which is our co-curricular (ko-k) day as well as our friend's birthday! As usual, we attended our ko-k class this morning. We planned to have an outing for the birthday girl to celebrate her 21st birthday. Thus, once after class dismissed, we rushed back to our room and dressed up. About half an hour later, we departed from UUM and headed to Aman Central, Alor Setar. Once we reached there, we had our lunch at Dave's Deli to satisfy our hunger. After the lunch, we shopped around and finally had our tea time at Starbucks. We treated the birthday girl a slice of cake and drinks as well. Before we left, we had taken a photo together and I like it so much. Its really great that all of us were able to celebrate this meaningful day together!
